C.A.M.A.L.

Cuero Area Ministerial Alliance began in the basement of our church to supply food to the needy of Cuero.  After 30+ years and several locations, it has been joined by other area churches and is housed at 118 W. Main. C.A.M.AL. is a 501(C) 3 tax-exempt organization run entirely by volunteers. Food distributions are made to the needy at C.A.M.AL House on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. For more information, please contact the Director of C.A.M.AL House, Freda Nelson at 361-524-0219. Each week during worship at FUMC children use the “C.A.M.AL Cart” to collect the food of the month, which is then donated to C.A.M.AL. House.

Pumpkin Patch

Each October FUMC, along with several other local churches, provide volunteers to run the community Pumpkin Patch. The Patch, located in the vacant lot behind the Presbyterian Church, is filled with pumpkins for sale to the community. Local school children come to the patch to be read a story, participate in an activity, and receive small pumpkins. All proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch support the C.A.M.A.L. House.

Trunk-r-Treat

FUMC, along with other local churches, participates in the annual Trunk-r-Treat around the Court House on Halloween. This provides a safe place for community children to dress up and go trick-or-treating.

Community Thanksgiving Services

Each year the Cuero Area Ministerial Alliance organizes a Thanksgiving worship service the Sunday evening prior to Thanksgiving Day. Clergy and laity from numerous denominations come together to worship and fellowship together. Each year the service is hosted by a different church in the community. The offering collected at this service supports the C.A.M.AL. House food bank.

Community Palm Sunday Services

Each year the Cuero Area Ministerial Alliance organizes a Palm Sunday worship service on Palm Sunday evening. Clergy and laity from numerous denominations come together to worship and fellowship together. Each year the service is hosted by a different church in the community. The offering collected at this service supports the C.A.M.AL. House food bank.
